Functions
The Canada Infrastructure Bank will strategically invest at least $35 billion over the next decade, and will draw in additional private-sector capital that would not have otherwise been invested in public infrastructure.
We will build capabilities in the following functions:
- Structuring and delivering federal support for revenue-generating infrastructure
- Investing in projects through a range of financial tools (debt, equity, loan guarantees)
- Considering unsolicited proposals from private sector investors
- Working cooperatively with all orders of government as well as investors to identify a pipeline of projects and potential investment opportunities
- Acting as a centre of expertise on infrastructure projects involving private- sector investment
- Advising governments on revenue-generating infrastructure projects
- Working with all orders of government to collect and share data to inform future investments
